Healthy Grocery Shopping Rules

If you want to make a lifestyle change, and eat healthier, here are several rules to follow when going grocery shopping.

1. Make a food list and Stick to it.
2. Shop the perimeter of the grocery store, where fresh foods like fruits, vegetables, dairy, meat, and fish are usually located.
3. Avoid the center aisles where junk foods are.
4. Choose real foods, such as 100% fruit juice or 100% whole-grain items with as little processing and few additives as possible. If you want more salt or sugar, add it yourself.
5. Avoid foods that contain artificial ingredients, or ingredients you can’t pronounce.
