Breaking Barriers: My Transformation with Walter Lewis

I had always been committed to fitness—showing up at the gym regularly, trying different workout routines, and even working with personal trainers in the past. Yet, despite my efforts, I never quite attained the results I desired. The trainers I worked with before seemed to follow a “one-size-fits-all” approach, and I often felt like just another client in their rotation. Their workouts weren’t tailored to my specific goals, and after repeated disappointments, I convinced myself that personal training just wasn’t worth the investment.

But as time passed, the scale refused to budge, and I grew frustrated. I was putting in the work, but something was missing. Desperate to shed the stubborn pounds, I started asking around for recommendations. Time and time again, one name kept coming up—Walter Lewis.

After our initial meeting, I knew Walter was different. He didn’t just offer another workout plan; he listened, evaluated my struggles, and explained how his approach would not only challenge me physically but also help me make better nutrition choices. For the first time in a long time, I felt hopeful. I decided to take the leap and train with him.

Since starting my journey with Walter, I have lost 14 pounds—and more importantly, I feel stronger, more energetic, and more in control of my health than ever before. Walter’s total-body outdoor workouts have completely changed the way I exercise. He pushes me beyond my comfort zone while ensuring that I’m progressing safely and effectively. Unlike my past experiences, Walter doesn’t just focus on the workouts—he monitors my progress, provides nutritional guidance, and offers the accountability I needed to stay on track. His passion for fitness is contagious, and I truly believe he takes a personal interest in my well-being. I feed off his energy, motivation, and expertise, making each session not only challenging but incredibly rewarding.

For anyone struggling to lose weight, my biggest piece of advice is this: what you eat matters just as much—if not more—than how much you exercise. Keeping a food journal has been a game-changer for me. It has helped me identify unhealthy patterns, make more mindful choices, and stay accountable to my goals. If you feel stuck, start tracking your meals—it will give you clarity on what’s working and what’s holding you back.

I won’t lie—my journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Coming from the Deep South, I grew up in a culture where a “thicker” frame was seen as the ideal for women. Even as I made positive changes for my health, some friends and family members questioned my weight loss. My mother even once called me to watch a program on anorexia, worried that I was getting "too small." Ironically, no one ever expressed concern when I was on the verge of obesity. But I’ve witnessed firsthand how chronic illnesses and unhealthy lifestyles have affected my loved ones, and that alone has given me the strength to break the cycle of complacency.

Working with Walter Lewis has been nothing short of phenomenal. His dedication, kindness, and expertise have helped me transform—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. I finally feel in control of my health, and I’m forever grateful for the journey I’ve embarked on with him. If you’re looking for real, lasting results, Walter Lewis is the trainer who will help you get there.
