My entire life, I never struggled with my weight. I had always been a size 6/8 and stayed physically active through one sport or another. But everything changed when I became pregnant with my daughter. During my pregnancy, I gained 62 pounds, and by the time she was born, I weighed 202 lbs.
Two weeks later, my husband deployed to Iraq for a year, leaving me to juggle single motherhood while successfully managing a retail store. With such a hectic schedule, I struggled to work out even 1-2 days per week, and the weight wasn’t coming off.
A Wake-Up Call That Changed Everything
While I was struggling, my husband was working out every day during his deployment. When he returned from Iraq, he looked like a male model, while I still hadn't lost the extra weight. My struggles with my body weren’t just internal—my husband didn’t handle my lack of weight loss well either.
Late last November, he confronted me about it. The moment that truly hit me was when he told me he had tried on my size 14 pants—and they were too big on him. Then he said something that cut even deeper: "You are not the same person. You aren’t as confident in yourself, and you’re pulling away from me." That was it. I made up my mind right then that I needed to do something about it. I decided to put my needs first.
Taking Control of My Health
I committed to working out three days a week and started taking spin classes, Zumba, and any group exercise class I could fit into my schedule. I also cleaned up my eating habits, even though my husband was still ordering Chinese takeout and pizza. His choices only pushed me harder—I was determined to prove to myself that I could regain control over my health.
As I progressed, I enrolled in a fit camp that included weight training, and I started seeing real results. By then, I had lost all the “baby weight” and was down to 142 lbs. But even though the scale reflected my progress, my body still wasn’t as firm and toned as I wanted. That’s when I made the decision to take my fitness to the next level and started working with Walter Lewis, my personal trainer.
The Transformation with Walter Lewis
In just a short time, training with Walter Lewis has completely transformed my body and mindset. Walter pushes me, challenges me, and inspires me to reach my personal goals—which now go beyond just losing weight. I don’t want to be soft anymore!
The results have been incredible:
✔ 7 lbs lost during the holiday season
✔ 3 inches off my waist
✔ Body fat reduced from 19% to 14%
✔ Visible muscle definition and new “cuts” forming in my muscles
Walter helped me focus not just on working out but also on discipline, accountability, and consistency. He tailored my workouts to maximize my strength and endurance, ensuring that I was seeing continuous progress. With his expertise, I’ve learned how to train smarter, fuel my body better, and stay committed—even on the tough days.
I feel strong, confident, and unstoppable.
A Secret Surprise for My Husband’s Homecoming
My husband is currently on another deployment, and the last time he saw me, I was 20 lbs heavier. The best part? He has no idea that I’ve been training with Walter Lewis.
This transformation is my secret. When he comes home in April, he’s going to be in for the biggest surprise of his life. I can’t wait to see the look on his face when he sees the strongest, fittest, and most confident version of me.
This journey wasn’t just about losing weight—it was about finding myself again. And now, I feel better than ever. 💪🔥
