How Fitness, Community, and Coaching Helped Me Find Confidence, Healing, and Hope
For as long as I can remember—even back to childhood—I’ve battled depression in different forms. I struggled with anxiety, self-worth, body image issues, and toxic thinking patterns. These challenges led me to make self-sabotaging decisions and left me feeling hopeless about ever getting better. Believing I was “not good enough” meant I held myself back from opportunities, doubted my potential, and gave up easily when things felt hard. My confidence was nonexistent, and I accepted that life was simply the way it was.
The turning point came at the end of 2018 after a difficult life event, when I finally decided to take my health seriously. That’s when Bootcamp and the virtual training program became my lifeline. Many people know they want change but don’t know where to start—that’s exactly how I felt. The support system I found through Walter and the community gave me hope, encouragement, and the belief that I wasn’t alone in my struggles.
Bootcamp gave me consistency, purpose, and something to look forward to. It became a source of healing—physically and mentally. I discovered that exercise was therapeutic, and once I started seeing progress, I wanted to keep going.
The virtual program and coaching calls helped me build better food habits and improve my mental health. Through conversations and shared experiences, I realized that struggles with food are common—but there are strategies to overcome them. By following the meal plan and learning to eat to live, rather than live to eat, I started seeing real results. That progress motivated me to push further and discover what else I was capable of achieving.
